  • Cast: Ann Clark, Nick Clark, Guest Star: Dr. DonEpisode: The News that Changes Lives...
  • Life Goes On
  • Last night, Ann had a bump appear around her breast. She didn't think much of it but she's had a little fatigue and headaches. She also is a smoker so she just assumed it was from that. Her and Nick talk about it this morning and decide to go to the doctor.
  • No NIck, I don't know what it is. I really want to go to the doctors because I haven't felt well either, maybe they can check out the bump while I am there?
  • Hey Ann, how are you feeling? Did that weird bump ever go down
  • Yeah let's go.
  • Ann and Nick arrive at the doctors and tell him what has been going on.
  • Well, I just haven't been feeling myself lately, I've felt some fatigue and headaches. I have broken out in a few rashes and I have this weird bump I want you to take a look at as well.
  • Hello guys, Im Dr. Don, what seems to bring you in today?
  • Oh yes, let's get you back for some test immediately.
  • Doctor Don and Ann discuss the test they need to do and begin the process.
  • All right now since you mentioned a bump along with these side effects, I want to do a biopsy to see if this is cancerous. Just lay back for the X-ray.
  • Okay Doc, I'm nervous.
  • Everyone meets in the waiting room. Nick and Ann are waiting for the results when the doctor comes in and tells them the news....
  • OH my, will everything be okay?
  • The test came back. Unfortunatley, you have stage 2 breast cancer.Breast cancer occurs when some breast cells begin to grow abnormally. These cells divide more rapidly than healthy cells do and continue to accumulate, forming a lump or mass.
  • Yes, the cells may spread (metastasize) through your breast to your lymph nodes or to other parts of your body.Parts of the body it generally affects are the obvious breast and lymph nodes, lungs, liver, bones and sometimes the brain. Which could explain why you have been feeling uneasy.
  • So what does this mean? Can you explain a little more about breast cancer?
