- Act 1 Scene 5
- "You kiss by the book" (Shakespeare 1.5.120)
- Two of the Capulet servants, Gregory and Sampson start a fight in the streets with a Montague servant that goes by the name of Abram. Benvolio tried to break up the fight but failed. The fight was finally broken up by the Prince who threatened the death penalty if fighting continued.
- In hopes of cheering up Romeo up about Rosaline, Benvolio informs him and Mercutio about a Capulet party that is taking place later on. Benvolio explains that very beautiful women will be at this party in attempts of coaxing Romeo. Romeo is skeptical but decided to go.
- At the Capulet party, Romeo spots Juliet and falls immediately in love. It is only after a long period of sharing glances that Romeo and Juliet begin talking to each other. They are both taken by one another and they share a kiss.
