- Mildred is Montag's wife and is a very dull character she spends her free time with watching, Montag is a firefighter but he burns books because they are dangerous and illegal

- Montag meets a strange seventeen year old girl named Clarisse on his way home from the fire station she questions everything he knows and gets him thinking then as they go home she asks him if hes really happy which makes him question things.

- Montag beatty and the other firemen goes to the old ladys house and finds a room full of books Montag keeps one of the books the old lady that owns the books refuses to leave knowing that the house will burn down so she takes out a match and lights the books on fire while she stands in the middle of them
- Scene 6
- Montag gets caught at firestation by beatty so he takes him home to burn his home and his books in front of the world because he was being a traitor
- someone calls the firestation to say that there are books at Montags house he starts to burn it then turns on his squadmates he knocks out two Then the mechanical hound comes to try and kill Montag but he burns it.
- After montag burns and knocks out his partners he immediately escapes and they put out a search for for treason murder and being a traitor, he gets tracked on his way to a house ashe arrives beatty and his team is there already burning it and running people out of it, montag sneaks in puts the tracer thing inside the bird and releases then beatty burns him
