Homework should stay in schools because it shows what students have learned, helps students remember what they learned, and allows the teachers to improve.
I disagree because students could use the time that they use for homework for other things. For example sports and more active activities.
Well what if there is a big test coming up and the teacher assigns homework, the students will recognize the material and be able to do their best on that test.
They might be prepared but what about the students who were confused of the material on the homework then will they just fail that part of the test? That would have made doing the homework a waste of time.
That is the great part about homework, if they are confused on something on the homework they can have help from a parent/guardian to help them understand and be prepared. If the students were not assigned the homework then the students would just be confused on the test.
Homework is still keeping them inside and forcing students to do something they do not want to do. Sometimes they stay up so late and do not get the rest they need doing homework. Who knows if the parent/guardian would undertsand the material and if they do not what will the child do?
Also, nobody said that kids had to stay inside and do their homework to be done. Students can easily go outside and enjoy nature while doing their homework. It also does not have to be dead quiet, even though some students might work better when it is. Students who do not could listen to music, audible book, podcast, and more while they are working.
Who said kids had to do all of their homework at once, with the help of others they might be able to organize a schedule to find out when good times to finish their homework are. Talking to teachers about their situation will also be a huge help to those who need it.
The parent/guardian(s) can get help by contacting the teacher and maybe set up extra courses for the student to take for a better understanding. I know that some teachers are busy but most of them will understand. Also people are not busy forever, students can talk to the teacher about good times to start planning.
You still did not answer my other question about the parents/guardian's understanding. Teacher might also be too busy to arrange something for the student. Parents can be busy too. Then the student would not have anybody to reach out to, and not all students have siblings to help them out when they need it.
Students may not like the homework but it will benefit them in the long run. Not only benefiting the students but teachers too. Students will understand their strengths and weaknesses and teacher can understand where their students are to prepare for the future,
Students still do not like homework, because of this kids begin to hate school and do worse. Students would rather do other activities that may be a better use of their time than homework.
