I went to a reading and writing teacher after school- she helped me begin my journey. My 4th grade English teacher would spend extra time with me and give me snacks for not messing up I began reading Harry Potter books and that really intrigued me into sci-fi and dystopian genre In middle school, I then got into the Maze Runner series and the Percy Jackson series for years which made me so hungry for more In highschool, I stayed with the Dystopian genre and involved more into the romantic side and became obsessed with the Scythe series
The scythe series taught me that theirs's always a silver lining to everything and not to always trust what is put in front of you.
Harry Potter really taught me to trust my friends and allow them to help you through adversity.
Ben Shapiro is my Historical figure ,because he stands for what he believes in. He will speak the truth in a room full of people who doesn't believe in what he does.
By taking away my freedom of playing with my friends I learned to read better from my teaches help.
When I was younger I had a very hard time reading, especially with distinguishing my M's from my W's. I went to a specialist and worked with her a lot and spent so much time trying to catch up to my peers it was ridiculous. We worked out most of it but I still stuttered really bad when I talked but learned to control my lisp a lot better. Turns out my little brother struggled with reading way worse than I. So. me being the big brother I decided to make myself better to help him and make his life easier. He still struggles till this day but now a days i just tease him for it because I tried so hard. My Dad is dyslexic so we partially blame it on him for making it hard on us when it came to reading. I loved reading but they did not so, that was the difference was i actually had a reason to get better than they did.I began reading Harry Potter books which really opened my eyes to adventure the dystopian genre of books. I realized their was so much more to read than Hank the Cow Dog. I started reading adventure books that then lead me too Percy Jackson. I read Percy Jackson religiously, I read it all throughout middle school and most of high school. It made my imagination run wild it pushed me to read more and more. Going deeper into the Dystopian genre I discovered the Maze Runner, Hunger games, and Divergent series. Those books really pulled me through my literacy journey and guided me through the trials and bullies of high school. One day I was scanning through the library and found this book with a scythe on it, Scythe would change my view on everything. it taught me to question everything I was taught and to not trust everything. Plato's Republic taught me to look at conversations differently along with the way i viewed other people.
