- Atticus learns about the game, Boo Radley, and tells the kids not to play it. and Jem still wants to play it . So, he just changed the name of the game.
- "Jem had thought of a way around it: he would simply change the name of the characters and then we wouldn't be accused of playing anything." (Lee, 41)
- The kids ask Miss Maudie what she thinks about Boo being alive and if she thinks so.
- "His name is Arthur and he's alive." (Lee, 43)
- "Call a little louder, Jack Finch, and they'll hear you at the post office, I haven't heard you yet!" (Lee, 44)
- Every timeUncle Jack comes home for Christmas, he asks Miss Maudie to marry him and she always denies.
- Jem and Dill have the idea to put a note on Boo Radley's window.
- "Jem was merely going to put the note on the end of a fishing pole and stick it through the shutters." (Lee, 46)
- To: Boo
- "Not a soul in sight." (Lee, 48)
- The kids try to approach the house and see if they can get close so they won't have to use a fishing pole.
- We just thought he might enjoy us..." (Lee, 49)
- Atticus finds out about the note and asks the kids why they wanted to write him a note.
