Storyboard Text

  • A basketball player is playing basket ball and he dribbles the ball around. How does the ball come back down to the ground?
  • Still don't quite understand talk to my friend.
  • Well my ball continues to come down because of gravity. Let me break it down some more. So when I push the ball down am using force , gravitational force to be exact and since the distance between me and the center of earths gravity is shorter( Inversely proportional) than the amount of force that is being put out to push my ball to the ground is pretty strong.
  • Then the bounce form the ground which is an unbalanced force pulls the ball back up again and I start the process over again. To dribble my ball.
  • Stacy is backing cookies and when she places the uncooked cookie dough on the sheet it begins to flatten out without her. Why?
  • Well this action also happens because of gravitational force pulling it down. Since the cookie dough is thick and has a large mass.
  • The gravitational force also increases(directly proportional.) and pulls the cookie dough down to the center of earths gravity.
  • Amelia is swimming in her pool and when she gets out she feels that her hair is really heavy and weighing down a lot. Why?
  • You guessed it gravity again, When I get out of the water the mass of the water on my head and the mass of my hair combine to make a large mass.
  • And since my hairs mass increased the force of gravity also increases(Directly proportional). The amount of gravitational force pulling my hair to the center of the earths gravity that is being exerted is larger than if my hair was dry.
