opie the birdman
Storyboard Text
- The zcene starts with opie repairing his sling shot, and they all talk about davids slingshot when he fought with goliath, and how Barney was a master at the slingshot, in the process of trying to impress opie he breaks a mirror. Andy tells opie to be very careful with his slingshot and not to break or hurt anything or anyone.
- On opies way home he is pretending to shoot at random things he sees during his walk he then loads a rock into the slingshot and shoots at a tree unsuspectingly hitting a bird. He thinks the bird is still alive just roughed up but then he realizes that the bird is actually dead. He starts crying and tries to blow air on the bird and throw it into the air to try and get it back alive, he also starts apologizing to the bird thinking this will work too. He then heads inside crying.
- Andy comes home and sees the dead bird, he does not put two and two together about the bird and the slingshot until opie starts acting very guilty at dinner. He goes to Opie's room and asks for his slingshot and explains to him that his actions have consequences and there are now birds outside in the nest that are now without a mother and cannot survive on their own, he then opens opies window so opie can hear the birds calling for their mother, this makes opie feel very guilty
