  • Act I
  • "What means this shouting? I do fear the people choose Caesar for their King" (I:II:79)
  • "Ay, do you fear it?" (I:II:80)
  • Act II
  • "Think him as a serpent's egg,/ Which, hatched, would as his kind, grow mischievous, / And kill him in the shell." (II,I 33-35)
  • Act III
  • "Et Tu, Brute?" (III, I, 79)
  • I chose to do the scene when Brutus and Cassius are discussing how Caesar would not make a good king. I think this is most important because this conversation and thought will be a great motive later in the story.
  • Act IV
  • "Your brother too must die; consent you, Lepidus" (IV:I:2)
  • In act 2, I think the most important thing was when Brutus gets the letter that was sent from Cassius. In the letter Cassius is pretending to be someone worried about Rome's future because of Caesar. He then makes it out like Brutus should do something. This then leads Brutus to decide he will kill Caesar.
  • Act V
  • " Caesar, now be still;/ I killed not thee with half so good a will"(V:V:50-51)
  •  The. biggest thing in act 3 is the murder of Julius Caesar. The whole story leads up to and revolves around this incident. This specific saying when Caesar is surprised to see that Brutus has joined the conspirators in killing him. Because Caesar believed him and Brutus to be good friends and he betrayed him. This leads to guilty feelings from Brutus later in the story. lsi
  • Theme
  • A big thing in act 4 is when Antony, Octavius and Lepidus are making a list of all the people they should kill. They are getting very power hungry and just killing people like its nothing. They are even agreeing to kill eachothers family members.
  • who to kill:
  • "I do Consent" (IV: I:3)
  • The biggest thing in Act 5 was when Brutus threw himself on his sword and admits the wrongness of what he did to Caesar. After this Antony calls him the most noble Roman of all and things sort of go to peace. Him saying this before he dies sets a scene for the end of the story.
  • I believe the theme of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar is to not destroy something based on your own uncertainty to play out well. Brutus was nervous of what Rome would come to when Caesar was crowned king so he kills him before he necessarily does anything wrong. He expresses regret for this murder after he takes his own life. I think this story teaches you to let things play out before ending them. Like this plant pictured, growing in sunlight.
