- Moana bids farewell to Maui and Te Fiti, returning home where she reunites with her parents. Moana decides and follows her heart in becoming the next chief of her people as what her parents’ told her from the start.
- The Road Back
- Moana takes up her role as chief and wayfinder, leading her people as they resume voyaging with Maui flying over them in Hawk form.
- Tests, Allies, Enemies
- Let's escape and bring your hook!
- Maui returns, having had a change of heart, and buys Moana time to reach Te Fiti by fighting Te Kā, destroying his hook in the process. Upon being unable to find Te Fiti, Moana realizes Te Kā is Te Fiti, corrupted without her heart. Moana completed her mission once and for all.
- Rising Action
- The ocean clears a path for Moana, allowing her to return the heart to Te Fiti, who heals the ocean and islands of the blight. Maui apologizes to Te Fiti, who fixes his hook and decorates Moana's boat with flowers before Te Fiti falls into a deep sleep and becoming an island.
- Maui must recover his magical fishhook from Tamatoa in Lalotai. While Moana is distracts Tamatoa, Maui retrieves his hook, but he is unable to control his powers. Tamatoa overpowers him, but Moana's skill allows them to escape. Maui teaches her the art of wayfinding, regaining control of his powers after a few epiphanies, and the two grow closer.

- Moana goes against her fathers (island) rules and starts the hunt to find the so called demigod Maui. She is not pleased with him sense the reason her sacred island is dying is all his fault. Through lots of negotiation, convincing, and hard work they start the long journey to restoring the heart.
