  • Yes Appa!!!!!
  • Are you excited to see your halmeoni?
  • How all of this helps me
  • This the story of Ava and how being the child of two parents who spoke do different languages helped her with her own language development.
  • Since both of Ava's parents have two different main languages that they speak, she lives in a household where it's normal to speak languages in the same conversation.
  • This is me and my dad after school with him picking me up at the bus. Whenever it's just me and him me and my Appa talk in Korean. He said it's a good way for me to learn the language. And for him not to get rusty. Whatever that means.
  • Having my mom who is a teacher really helps when I don't understand something
  • Every time me and my parents are playing they are always asking me questions. I don't really understand why but I don't question it.
  • Blue!
  • My dad likes for all of us to drive to my halmeoni's house every few months in Orange Country, California where she lives. When I'm there I mainly only speak Korean unless I'm speaking to my mom. It's a great way for me to make sure that I don't forget my Korean language that is a part of who I am.
