- With no money being generated by the farm I can’t fix anything in this house. Therefore making it very unsafe for my family.
- We need more water for the crops in order for me to get income to help out the family.
- I have no friends to play football with.
- Oh no the fire will burn down everything like my house, my crops and even the barn house!I will have nothing left.
- The house constantly breaks down due to old pipes in the walls, general corrosion of the building and often a lack of electricity because of faulty cables. This is very unsafe especially for children. The conditions this family has to live in would be far better if they migrated to urban areas after they make a bit of income allowing them to have more access to safer facilities.
- Due to the annual drought this family cannot get any water to feed their crops which they use to sell to the local farmers market a couple hours away. This means that John can’t generate any income for the family meaning that he can’t provide for the basic needs like education for Peter and sanitation for the family.Little Peter lives so far from any kids his age and therefore bringing him sadness because there is no one to play football with him.
- Dry land increases the chance of massive wild fires to occur, destroying John and his family's remaining crops on the farm thus making it even harder to start from scratch and build his farm up again. He and his family would need to find other ways to live a better life and continue making money to supply for the family.
