- Birth & Childhood
- "My men stood up and made a fight of it"(760).
- Preparation
- "I lay with him in that famous wooden horse you know. We crouched in the belly of the horse that was dragged into Troy..."(161).
- Scylla & Charybdis
- When Odysseus first entered the story he faked like he is insanely crazy because Menelaus came for him, also so he wouldn't have to fight. He still ended up fighting in war the men threatened him saying if he didn't then they would throw his son in front if a plow. Odysseus had to stop acting crazy to save his sons life.
- Cyclops
- "But to appreciate it, you must taste the wine of the country".(20)
- "My name? Why I am nobody" (21)
- Odysseus was on the Greek/ Greece side of the war with Achilles. Odysseus/ Greek won the Trojan war by sending over a huge trojan horse filled with greeks to invade Troy. The Greeks thought that it was a gift from poseidon but turned out that their were Greeksthen burnt down Troy, killed the men, took the treasure, murdered the children, enslaved the women, etc.
- Ultimate Battle
- "Truly this is. story never told. And yet I think that all the mighty deed that are sung, I like this little one best"(162).
- Charybdis is an enormous whirlpool who will swallow the whole ship. Scylla is a huge spider with dozen of legs and half a dozen heads who will eat all the sailors whenever they pass by her. So Odysseus decided to pass through the middle of them to protect his men.The archetypal color for this section is purple and black because purple stands for fear and the men and Odysseus are super scared for what could happen to them in the middle of the Sea. Black stands for death, mystery, and fear of the unknown which they are all feeling at the moment they are in the sea.
- Triumphant Return
- "For now he heard the whistling gurgle of a whirlpool, and he knew that they were approaching the narrowest part of the strait, and must pass between Scylla and Charybdis"(90).
- Odysseus gave a lot of wine to Polyphemus to make him drunk so he wouldn't think straight. Polyphemus didn't know what wine was. Odysseus told polyphemus that his name was nobody so if anyone asked who did this to you he would so nobody, But then later on while Odysseus was leaving Odysseus told polyphemus that his name was Odysseus and if anyone asked to say that Odysseus did it to him. The color red and black represents this scene for the red the wine and the anger, black for the evil and sneakiness from Odysseus.
- "Wine? What is wine?"(20)
- Odysseus got to finally meet his family again after 20 years and he met his son who is all grown up now. he acts as if he's a beggar so he hide his treasure in a cave to make it like he has nothing. Odysseus' son was actually happy to see his dad. Odysseus' son just met his dad after never knowing him and is already ready to fight for him/ with him. During the battle Odysseus' son get hurt.
- "You are my true son"(156).
- "The words you have just spoken makeup for the 20 years of you I have missed"(156).
- There are multiple men for Penelope to choose from to be her husband. There is a bow and arrow that only her husband could shoot, Odysseus was the only one who was able to shoot but, Odysseus told her the truth about how he cheated on her but he couldn't help it because he was under a spell. They still ended up getting married.
- "Thank you queen"(162).
