- In the end of A Good Man is Hard to Find a car pulls up to help. It was no other than the misfit, he starts a conversation with the Grandmother while Bobby Lee who is the misfits man takes Bailey, John, and June to the forest. The misfits tone and the way Billy takes them into a dark forest is definitely a sense of Gothic literature. Even Bailey says this “Listen,” Bailey began, “we’re in a terrible predicament! Nobody realizes what this is,”
- “Well, first you and Bobby Lee get him and that little boy to step over yonder with you,”
- At this moment Bobby has Bailey and John captive, ready to shoot them. Billy lures them into a dark and quiet place to end their lives. This makes it unsettling and involves murder which is apart of death in Gothic Litertaurwe
- This very moment the grandmother hears shots from the way Bailey and the kids went, she knows that she will be next and begins to beg why. She later gets shot by him, which gives the story a theme of terror and a dark feeling,, which is the main Gothic element
- What were those gunshots in the woods!
