- The Short Story A Good Man is Hard to Find by Flannery O'Connor is a great example of Gothic literature. The gloomy weather outside the window creates a Gothic mood, also the Grandmother is mentioning a place to go to while the family seems confused, like there is a sense of danger, which is the main trait of Gothic Liteature.
- “You all ought to take them somewhere else for a change so they would see different parts of the world and be broad. They never have been to east Tennessee.”
- At this moment the whole family are on their way to Tennessee, but then they see there about to be in a car accident. This drives the plot to a dark
- I knew this was a bad idea!
- In this scene the family had a car accident and ended up on a ditch on the side of a empty dirt road, with a forest in the back with a dark sky, you just know something bad will happened. All 3 of these elements are part of Gothic Literature because it portrays a mystery which is a characteristic of Gothic Literature
