- The Old Regime (3 Estates)
- France is bankrupt

- France was split into 3 estates. The highest being the first and second, while the third being the lower estate. The first estate were high-ranking officials of the church and controlled almost everything such as education, kept records of births, deaths, and marriages. ect. and the paid no taxes. The second estate controlled mostly military and state appointments and collected taxes in form of feudal dues. The third and lowest estate had no privileges but burdens such as paid all the taxes.

- France end up going bankrupt because the king lavished money on himself and his palaces, while the queen spent incredible amount of money on dresses and fashion. Not only that but funds depleted as result of paying for war such as the 7 year war and supporting american revolution
- radical take over reign of terror
- King Louis ends up locking the this estates out of the meeting and because of the that the third estates meets on a nearby tennis court. They create the national assembly and take the "tennis court Oath" vowing g to establish a new constitution for France. Luis didn't want that and news of his plan to use military force against the national assembly.

- Angry members of the Third Estate storm the Bastille on July 14, 1789. A place which king Louis used to imprison anyone he chose. This becomes France's Independence Day. In august, National Assembly issues the Declaration on the Rights of Man. Some of them are Guaranteed property rights, right of the people to create laws, right to a fair trail, liberty,equality,fraternity, ect.
- A new group called The Convention takes over and abolished the monarchy. They put the royal couple on trial for treason and therefor Louis was guillotined on January 21, 1793 while Marie Antoinette was guillotined on October 16, 1793.
- Napoleon invades kingdoms throughout Europe and starts making a name for himself as a both military leader and as a National Leader. Napoleon forms Frances, by maintaining many ideas of enlightenment, open jobs based on talent and many other things. Thanks to Napoleon legacy, Spain is no longer a power and loses power in the colonies in South america. And leads to independence movements in Spanish colonies in the Americas
