- The book talks about the problems with torture in our modern day society. Teaches readers about problems in our society. It also teaches us to be grateful for what we have and to cherish moments before they are gone.

- This topic is relevant to teenagers because the main character is a teenager. It also allows teenagers to realize how fortunate they are to live in a developed country with countless potentials. It showed how the main character didn't get to live out their childhood and had to grow up fast to be able to live. Pax as a young teen on the streets with a child had to work many jobs a day to provide food for them.
- The main theme of this book is hope, family, and struggle. The theme of hope is shown through Pax’s determination to give Kai a good life. The theme is conveyed through character interactions and situations the characters are put in. The theme is very clear throughout the book, the implicit theme is sticking with family through hard times and to stand up to torture like Pax did. -What themes are shown-How can you critique the book

- The author is more around the bush and does not fully explain some parts of the book. This is mainly done to get the reader's creativity flowing. Giving us all the information would disrupt the reader's imagination.
