- "You will stay in this cave, and I'll be back, to check up on you after I'm finish working and I'll bring food to you."
- Candy was thinking if they are still doing the plans of their dreams. George was going to help Lennie, and wanted stick with the plan. George will find Lennie where he was hiding in the brush. George will tell Lennie to hide in the cave, so that Curley and the guys won't find him. George will not get mad at him for what Lennie had done.
- George will help Lennie to hide in a cave instead of shooting the back of Lennie's head. Curley was going to Lynch Lennie because Lennie killed Curley's wife. George knew that Lennie didn't mean to kill Curley's wife. George is not mad at Lennie because he did something wrong that he didn't mean to. Lennie will do what George said.
- George promised that he will come back to check up on Lennie after he finished work. George will bring food and the stuff that Lennie will need to survive. Curley and the guys at the barn won't find out that George hid Lennie in a cave. George promised to Lennie and Candy that they will reach their dreams of having their own land. On the land Lennie live happily raising the rabbits he always wanted.
