Eddie and Katie had been best friends since they were little kids. They sat together at lunch everyday. Sometimes Eddie would go to Katie's house, but Katie had never gone to Eddie's house.
One day, Katie's mom was late to pick her up after school. Eddie asked if she wanted to come over to his house. Katie didn't know what to do, but she said okay and followed him to his mom's car.
Katie, your mom is here. Come talk to her please.
Katie was nervous to go to Eddie's house. Her mom had told her not to get into anyone's car that she didn't know, but she and Eddie had been friends for so long, it would be fine. Right?
Next time, ask me before you leave. Remember, if it's someone you don't know, don't go!
After driving for about 40 minutes, they got to the house. Katie had no idea where they were, but didn't want to say anything or be rude to Eddie. She decided to go inside with Eddie and not say anything.
A little while later, Katie and Eddie were playing games when they heard the doorbell ring. Katie heard her mom at the door, and she sounded scared. Eddie's mom yelled to the kids and told Katie to come talk to her mom.
Katie's mom explained to her that she should have told her or someone at the school where she was going. Katie's mom was really scared because she didn't know where her daughter was. Even though Katie wasn't in danger, she could have been.
