- "I said... My man Troy knows what he's doing... I'm gonna follow this nigger... he might take me somewhere. I been following you too. I done learned a whole heap of things about life watching you"(Wilson 60). Bono explains to Troy that since they've been friends for so long, he trusts Troy enough to follow his choices.
- What does the person think about?
- "But I held on to you Troy, I held him tighter. You was my husband. I owed you everything I had. Every part of me I could find to give you"(Wilson 68). After Rose finds out that Troy cheated on her, she tries desperately to explain to him how she gave him her all and loved him with all of her being.
- What kind of person are they?
- "Everywhere I looked, Troy Maxson was staring back at me... hiding under the bed... in the closet. I'm just saying I've got to find a way to get rid of that shadow, Mama"(Wilson 89). After explaining to Rose that he doesn't want to go to his father's funeral, Cory Maxson gives her reasons as to why and how his father followed him around in every decision he made as an adult.
