Good god, are you mad?!
The other two wishes...We've only had one! Go down and get it quickly! Wish our boy alive again!
Mrs. White stands by the window, sobbing uncontrollably. Grief consumes her until she suddenly remembers the monkey’s paw. She turns to Mr. White, pleading desperately. He hesitates, torn between her sorrow and the paw’s terrible power.

Frame 2: The Second Wish
*Whispering noises*
Wish!
I wish my son alive again... (Twists in his hand and drops it) UGKH!
In the dim parlor, Mr. White took the wicked paw hidden in the drawer and stares at it, his face filled with anguish. Mrs. White follows, urging him on. After a pause, he whispers the wish. The paw jerks, and an eerie silence follows. They leave; the weight of dread heavy in the air.

Frame 3: The Knocking Begins
No! What are you going to do?
It's Herbert! It's Herbert!
Let me go! I must open the door!
*Knock Knock*
A slow, deliberate knock shatters the silence of the night. Mrs. White gasps, overcome with hope. Mr. White stiffens, fear gripping him. The knocking grows louder as she rushes toward the door, while he follows, desperate to stop her.
