  • The Evolution of Media in Relation to the Society
  • Everyone knows that over the years, culture, technology, and people change.
  • The values and norms for people also changes. Along with their technologies. The evolution of media transforms the people of society.In every evolution of media, the behavior and norms for people also goes into evolution.
  • There are four ages that categorizes the level of technological advancements in media and these are Pre-industrial Age, Industrial Age, Electronic Age, and Information Age. Each and every one of them are unique and have made different changed in the people's norms.
  • The four ages shapes the values and norms of the people differently and uniquely.
  • In the Pre-industrial Age, the media technology only comes with symbols and small texts. Media technology is not abundant but paved way for storing information on cave walls, and wooden tablets. People of this age communicated through the use of wood/stone tablets and speech so they are not far apart. These made the people closer.
  • In the Industrial Age, the media technology are far better and can be used to send messages in longer distances. This is because of printed texts. This technology made the people more conservative and were able to socialize better with other people on further places. The norms and values changed as people started communicating through paper and telegram.

  • The latest and current age, the Information Age has drastically changed how people live and communicate. With the best media technology, people can now communicate whenever, wherever, and anytime. Information can be passed through with a click of a button. The media even has a worldwide range letting you talk with people around the world
  • In every Age, there are changes. From communication through wooden tablets, to printed medias, and to digital medias. We have experienced technological advances through communication. As a result, the behavior, values, and norms for the people who use it also changes.
