  • Desert horned lizards live in the savanna desert. They run around on the ground to find food and hid under rocks to catch their food. Hawks eat the lizards that stand out.
  • 4: Competition & Natural Selection
  • Genetic Variation is in the Desert horned lizards. Their is 3 different colors. Their are blue, tan, and green. The tan lizards blend in better so they can hide better than the blue and green ones.
  • 5: Adaptation
  • After Breading season their are tone of babies in all the various colors. The species is overpopulated and they are running out of food, shelter, and places to hide to stay away from their predators.
  • Evolution Has Occured
  • The blue skin lizards are easier for its predator, Hawks, to hunt. The lizards with the green skin can hide easier and the tan lizards can almost camouflage in the sand and rocks. It's natural selection where the best suited for the desert environment will survive and reproduce comfortably.
