- Did our own British folks help Native Americans by giving them our guns!
- Before the war, American militiamen and settlers fought Native Americans over land in the Ohio River Valley. After the battle of Tippecanoe, US militiamen discovered that the British were supporting the Native Americans resistance by giving them guns.

- The British Navy seized American ships, kidnapped American sailors and forced them into military service.

- Ft. McHenry was a British defeat that led to a turning point in the War of 1812, leading both sides to reach a peace agreement later that year.

- On December 24, 1814, the Treaty of Ghent was signed by British and American representatives at Ghent, Belgium. This Treat ended the War of 1812.

- The battle of New Orleans was the U.S victory against Great Britain in the War of 1812, and the final major battle of that conflict.

- The ships are coming along well. This has opened many new jobs for people.
- Another effect of the War of 1812 was that US manufacturing grew. After the Embargo Act the US has to start making its own good due to the lack of trade with Britain and other countries.
