Storyboard Text

  • Well how do we combat this? First Tom should switch his setting from a couch to an office chair. These chairs provide adequate lumbar support to keep you comfortable (and pain free) for long periods of time. Second, we should switch Tom's device from a laptop to a traditional desktop computer. This is mainly because laptops have awkwardly positioned screens/keyboards. This can cause neck stain (from bending your neck to look at a screen) and carpel tunnel syndrome (irritation from repetitive motion of the wrist) from the angle that most people (including Tom) use laptops.
  • Carly is an extremely hard worker, she doesn't to take breaks, but complains about dry eyes. Not taking breaks (at least to rest your eyes) can cause eyes to dry up. Though usually not serious, it can lead to mild discomfort. Carly also sits with perfect posture with her feet barley touching the ground, at the end of the day however, she complains about sore core muscles. Keeping your feet close to the ground is essential to providing your pelvis with support. If you don' t keep your feet flat on the floor, your pelvis will tilt backwards which will cause your core muscles to overcompensate. This has been linked to lower back pain.
  • Second, Carly.
  • The End!
  • How can we combat this? First, Carly should utilize the 20/20/20 method for her dry eyes. This method makes someone look at an object 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. Additionally, she should be taking 5-10 minute breaks every 1 -2 hour(s) to avoid her muscles/tenants losing elasticity. To combat the issue of her feet not sitting properly on the floor, Carly can simply adjust the height of the chair until her legs make a perfect 90 degree angle. If she can't do this, she can consider a footrest (this stack of books).
