I don't need your advice. I'm 18 and I know everything!
I enrolled at Umass Amherst the year immediately following HS graduation. My parents tried to advise me that I would not do well at a large school, but I thought I knew better. I also made the mistake of majoring in Forestry and Fire Science. I was overwhelmed by the large class sizes and heavy science content. I did not do well there and left after three semesters. I was immature and not ready for college.

After dropping out of Umass I moved with my family to Tallinn, Estonia. In Estonia I taught ESL, took college classes and was a radio DJ. I grew up a lot in the three years I spent there. It was the gap year(s) I didn't know I needed.

Boston College School of Social Work
Upon returning to the US I was now well behind my peers who were all graduating. I needed to both work and find a way to pay for school. I started working at BC to finance my education.
New Major English
I worked 40 hours/week and went to class four nights a week for three years to finish my Bachelor's degree. I then stayed on to complete my Master's in Teaching.
