- The Second Continental congress made a committee to write the Declaration of Independence.the committee had three people, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Sam Adams.r Jefferson was chosen to write the first draft. He included a list of crimes he accused the king of. The Congress changed it.

- The two army’s were polar opposite.the British army had guns called musket with a metal tip, the Americans had long rifles which were more accurate then musket. The British were trained to fight in open battlefield which made them easy targets, the Americans hid behind rocks and bushes.

- On December 25,1776 the Americans traveled across the Delaware River for a surprise attack on the hessians. A icy storm made traveling the Delaware River hard, at 4 A.m. the patriots Made it to shore.the plan worked! The hessians quickly surrendered Washington only lost two men who froze in the storm.
- On September 19 1777,general Burgoyne and his army battle the patriots near a farm in Saratoga. He won the battle but lost meany soldiers he hoped help was on the way but none was coming. They battled again and Burgoyne lost.that was the turning point In the war.
