This was the day that my dad decided to tell me the backstory of his and my mother's divorce. I was only 1 when they divorced so I have no recollection of the events but hearing about it was an event in itself. My dad has a habit of mixing up stories in his favor so as he was telling all the things about my mom I let it flow in through one ear and out the other to avoid having these negative images of my mom, but of course, he is my father, so what he says is bound to have an effect on me. I won't bore you with the details but let's just say as he was saying all these things, I kind of zoned out.

so basically what had happened was
Once I got back to my mom's I just had to tell her the new information my father had told me. There were some things I had to fact check with her because as I said before, my dad may extend the truth sometimes. Of course, my youngest brother was crying and my mother was exhausted so I had to hold off on my interview until the next morning. I still let her know about what I had learned before we fell asleep.
Hey mom, I know all about your divorce with my father nothing too serious
Can we talk about this in the morning, I'm too exhausted to process anything.
That NEVER happened, here are the text messages and bank statements
In the morning, she immediately asked me about what my dad had told me. My mom isn't the kind f person to over-react or go and ask my dad directly about these things because she knows it wouldn't make things any better for me. She just wants to know what's going on so that I don't get the wrong image in my head. As I told her, she debunked a lot of the things my dad had said AND had proof to back her up which made me a little upset that my dad would lie to my face about something so serious but I was used to it by now .
