- Hey, it's Zach up on monitors, are you at a place where you could do a few things for me?
- Room 3001 needs leads re-placed, 3009's monitor will need a fresh set of batteries, and room 3018 will need both leads re-placed and a fresh set of batteries.
- That should do it, Thank you!
- 14 Minutes Later
- Just give me about 10 minutes, and I should be free!
- Um, could you call back I'm currently in the middle of patient cares...
- Hey, it's Zach up on monitors, do you have a second to do a couple things for me?
- Of course, no worries! Would there be a better time to call down?

- As Zach continues to work on his communication with his nurses, he also must be able to communicate with his patients when working the floor as a Nurse Technician. To effectively communicate with his patient, he must listen to the needs of the patient and reassure them when needed.
- There is one more thing, I am feeling a bit of pain. Could you let my nurse know for me?
- I am so thirsty, could I please get a water?
- Of course! Let me go get you some water. Is there anything else I can do for you while I'm here?
- Of course! I will let your nurse know you're experiencing pain, let me go get that water for you!
- Zach returns home after his 12-hour shift feeling like his job was done more effectively when it came to his ability to communicate. By asking questions, listenting attentively, and using follow-up statements, he was able to better communicate with his co-workers and patients.
