- Sergeant gets shot by Wes
- A black gloved hand reached out the window holding a handgun and let off 3 shots, striking Prethero at point black range.
- Tony and Wes get arrested
- As Wes hit the final stair, he looked up and saw his bother lying face down on the floor, a police officer's knee in his back, handcuffs being tightened around his wrists.\
- Wes gets life in prison
- You committed an act like something out of the Wild West, and you didn't even realize how outrageous it was. That makes you a very dangerous person.
- The sentence was indeed life in prison without the possibility of parole.
- This scene is significant because this is one of the decisions that Wes made on his own and that decision led police to want to desperately find him. Not only does the sergeant's death affect Wes, it also affects the sergeant's family since we know the mother will not be able to work and provide for all 5 kids on her own.
- This scene is significant because this is when Tony and Wes finally get arrested after being on the run for a few weeks. They have no where to run and they knew their lives were going to be changed forever. They also lost any faith their mother had for them.
- This scene is significant because his fate was now set in stone for him forever. He'll get no more second chances and he will spend the rest of his years behind bars. Furthermore, his kids will grow up wondering where their dad is and why didn't he make a bigger effort to be their for them. Wes will simply have to go on with his life without ever seeing his kids grow up.
