Storyboard Text

  • I Samuel 17:2
  • Saul and the men of Israel massed and encamped in the valley of Elah. They drew up their line of battle against the Philistines,
  • I Samuel 17:8
  • “Why should you come out to engage in battle? I am the Philistine [champion], and you are Saul’s servants. Choose one of your men and let him come down against me.
  • I Samuel 17:17
  • “Take an ephah of this parched corn and these ten loaves of bread for your brothers, and carry them quickly to your brothers in camp.
  • In the above frame, King Saul was rallying his army and getting readyto fight their fierce enemy, the Philistines.
  • I Samuel 17:33-35
  • But Saul said to David, “You cannot go to that Philistine and fight him; you are only a boy, and he has been a warrior from his youth!”
  • David replied to Saul, “Your servant has been tending his father’s sheep, and if a lion ora bear came and carried off an animal from the flock,I would go after it and fight it and rescue it from its mouth. And if it attacked me, I would seize it by the beard and strike it down and kill it.
  • In the above frame, we are able to see Goliath as he towers over his ownarmy. His true size and strength can be seen. He is challenging the Israelites as the losing side will be the slaves for the winners.

  • In the frame above, David's father is seen giving David 10 loaves of bread and parched corn. He is given this to then give to his brothers who are in the lines of war.

  • And David answered, “The son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.”
  • Saul said to him, “Whose son are you, my boy?” And David answered, “The son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.”
  • The frame above depicts the moment in which King Saul tells David he can not fight but David argues back by telling him he would not surrender if his flock were under terror. So why she he surrender when his people are under terror.
  • The frame above shows the key moment in the battle between David and Goliath. Goliath was so confident he would beat the little average kid, but David defied the odds and slung a rock directly into Goliath's head, killing him in the process.
  • In the above frame, we can see the moment on where Saul calls upon the man that did the impossible. Saul asked who he was and who he was the son of. While still holding the head of Goliath, he answered the son of Jesse.
