Storyboard Text

  • A wealthy man walks up to a little boy playing with sticks and rocks. He asks where his parents are for he wants to talk about the money that they owe him. However the money that the family owes him will put them in debt, so the boy has a trick up his sleeve.
  • See here boy, I am looking for your parents. Now, would you tell me where they are?
  • A FLY?!
  • “My mother is at the market selling the wind and buying the moon, and my father is cutting down trees and planting dead ones”
  • The wealthy man proposes a promise to the boy, if he tells him where his parents are then he will free them of debt. When the boy becomes skeptical with no witnesses, he says the fly on the house poll will be his witness.
  • IT WAS ON THE HOUSE POLE!!
  • The witness of this promise is that little fly on your house pole. He will witness this promise.
  • When the boy's parents return, the little boy tells them the promise the wealthy man made. The man denies these allegations and takes the family to court to follow through on there deal.
  • Nonsense! Are you going to stand there and listen to a child's inventions? We shall go to court.
  • The boy and his family go to court and the boy explains that there was no other witness than the fly. Everyone was confused with the boy's story about the fly.
  • The boy explains how the fly was on the rich man's nose when he made the promise, which tricked the rich man into explaining the truth.
  • In the end, the boy and his family were released of all debt and everyone had a good laugh.
