Emotional distress
Omens and Curses
Setting and Atmosphere
One of the most clear strong emotional distress happens when Heathcliff reacts to the current situations which is heavily being tortured by Hindley and the ever deconstructing-relationship of him and Catherine. Heathcliff would have gone into such feelings that it almost MUTATES his personality.
Damsel in Distress
One of the Omens and Curses demonstrated in the story is when the Ghost of the Older Catherine (who had passed) haunts Heathcliff or almost when Heathcliff declares revenge on all who wronged him
Supernatural and Paranormal Activity
The story also includes a very suitable atmosphere with lots of rugged hills, morgue, mists and fog to symbolize mystery and more things which can show us and emphasize the way that Pathetic Fallacy can be used to match with the characters moods and feelings
Anti-hero
Towards the end of the story, Heathcliff helds Young Catherine at the manor until she marries Linton of whom he thinks that his revenge for Linton's Father Edgar will be complete.
Paranormal Activities include the return of Older Catherine's ghost which mainly happened because Heathcliff grew obsessed with her and wished her to stay on Earth
Characters such as Heathcliff accounts as almost like an anti-hero (although he kind of acts like a villain towards the end of the story). He lacks heroic features and his role and mood shows that he is in fact an anti heron
