Hey, Emma, I need your help. I'm kind of in a confusing situation. My friend, Jason, attempted to discretely take all my planning for my assignment, but I caught him without him noticing. I can easily tell the teacher and he will get a detention, but that will mean our friendship will probably end, and I know that his parents will get really angry! Should I tell the teacher and sacrifice our friendship or just let it go?
That's really a tough situation! I wouldn't even be sure what's right if I was in your shoes, but you might want to consult a teacher or parent.
I should probably consider my options: 1) I can tell the teacher what he's been doing, and it would also explain why other peoples' assignment plans have gone missing over the past few months. This would definitely be good news for the teacher, finding out the 'project thief', but Jason is a great friend of mine, and I know his intentions aren't to sabotage, but just to impress his parents slightly.2) I can just let it go and let Jason off the hook, but then a bunch of peoples' work will get stolen and no one will get the credit that they deserve. Maybe though, someone else can find out, and then the culprit will be exposed while still maintaining a friendship.
