- Jem: "I've just got this weird feeling"
- Jem is looking around and Is visibly nervous on there walk into the town with only dim lights left on in each building.
- Kids going to atticus
- Atticus: "Go home Jem and take Scout and Dill with you"
- Men show up in cars to the Jail and ask Atticus if Tom is inside, then tell Atticus to step aside and go away but Atticus tells them to go home. It is then found out they sent the sheriff out on a fake report so he isn't there to protect Atticus. Then scout runs to Atticus while Jem tries to stop here, Atticus tells them to go home but they don't listen. Then Scout tries to make small talk with Mr. Cunningham but it goes poorly, but after a little longer Mr. Cunning has everyone leave.
- Scout: "I'm not going anywhere, oh high Mr. Cunningham how is your entailment going along?"
- "Get that kid out of here NOW!"
- Jem: "Scout get back here"
- Atticus: " Tom there gone now you can get some sleep."
- After all the men leave he Atticus tells Tom that they had left and he can get some sleep and Mr. Underwood says from the Maycomb Tribute that he had him covered the entire time. Atticus then takes Scout, Jem and Dill home.
- Mr. Underwood: " Don't worry Mr. Finch, I had you covered if anything would have happened."
