  • In this scene, Launcelot meets Bassisino, who agrees to take him in as his servant. Launcelot is very excited to get away from his old master. The theme I took away is generosity. Bassanio is generous in letting launcelot take over as his servant. Launcelot would rather work for a poor man who is generous than a rich master who is greedy and selfish. The theme I took from "Romeo and Juliet" that relates to "The Merchant of Venice" is destiny. It is Launcelot's "destiny" or "goal" to work for Bassanio.
  • If you want to leave a rich Jew to work for a poor gentlemen, you're welcome to
  • The Merchant of Venice - Act 2 Scene 2William Shakespeare
  • Act 2 Scene 4
  • In this scene Launcelot carries his message from Jessica to give to Lorenzo that she wrote for him. The theme that represents this scene is love. It is obvious Lorenzo and Jessica love each other and the love of his friends want to help his relationship. Lorenzo reminds me of Romeo, and Jessica reminds me of Juliet. Like Romeo and Juliet, they have to create a plan to see each other. Their love for eachother is so similar to Romeo and Juliet.
  • Launcelot, what's going on?
  • If you don't mind opening this letter, you can find out for yourself
  • Act 2 Scene 4
  • In this scene, Lorenzo is telling Gratiano the plan and how Jessica will escape tonight. The theme I took away from this is friendship. Friends are people who have each other's back and will help any friend in need. In this scene, Lorenzo and his friends will help Jessica escape. I relate Launcelot to the nurse who gives Romeo(Lorenzo) the letter. Messages are being sent over to help accomplish Jessica's freedom.
  • She's told me how I can get her out of her fathers house.
