  • George points to a crocodile on his poster board under ‘Feeding Relationships’
  • Feeding relationships
  • . “If he were to get eaten by a predator, it would be considered predation and parasitism, as the predator gets the benefit of energy and Peter dies. Parasitism isn’t just for parasites, as it may sound, its for any organism encounter that hurts one and helps the other."
  • One day while exploring, Peter comes across Rengasdengklok, a bustling city filled with shops, markets, and people alike. Before he could head home, a curious boy named George runs over to him and is excited to find him. He picks Peter up and runs to his school, as George has a project about basic Ecology
  • AHHHHHH!!
  • better be careful going back there
  • As they are running, Peter hears his family screaming, as they were mauled by nearby predator crocodiles in a revenge act because he kept disturbing their peace by jumping on them and running away. Peter will need to be careful coming back, as the crocs could be waiting for him when he inevitably returns.
  • They enter the school and go to the science classroom. George puts Peter down on the front desk in front of his poster board.
  • RAHHHH!
  • “This is my monkey, Peter, there are many like him but this one is mine. He is native to this area.” Peter starts scratching his head in a moment of confusion. “They are herbivores, which means they eat producers, or autotrophs, like plants, and they are prey to predators, or heterotrophs, such as crocodiles.” George says. Peter finds this traumatizing and screeches, startling George. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know that hurt you."
  • Anyway, they aren’t omnivores or carnivores because they don’t like the consumers that endanger them.” Peter yells again, less this time because he knows they’re endangered. George keeps speaking, “Since he’s a herbivore, he is a large link in his local food chain, and even smaller in his food web because he’s getting a good portion of the energy from plants.”
