- The Secret Agent
- The retired secret agent went to the edge of a building to witness the sunset as the darkness started to settle in.
- Hey, little bird. How are you this fine evening?
- Hello, I'm great. How did you get up here?
- The retired secret agent revealed his secret identity because there was no reason to keep it a secret anymore.
- Believe it or not I used to be a secret agent a few years back and I can change between states whenever I want to. It is pretty cool because they each let me do different things that maybe the previous one didn't.
- Wow! That is super cool. I wish I could do that!
- The retired secret agent explained to the bird how he was currently in his solid form and what that meant.
- It is pretty cool but I also find it very interesting. Like right now I'm in my solid form which gives me a definite shape and volume. It also means my particles are closely packed which is sometimes helpful but a nightmare at others times. When I'm in this form, I can't flow because my particles interact in a very strong way and they vibrate in place.
- That is interesting, I didn't know being in your normal state of matter meant so much.
- Yeah, this is my liquid form. This one's really fun to use because I can listen to people and I look just like water so they can't tell it's me. It's also very helpful because I can slip through small cracks or under a door easily to accomplish a mission.
- The retired secret agent showed the bird his liquid form and they discussed how it is beneficial at times.
- You switched states so quickly I almost didn't see you! It makes a lot of sense though because you no longer have a definite shape but instead take the shape of the container.
- Exactly! When I'm in my liquid form I still have a definite volume but I don't have a definite shape. The cool thing is that even though the interaction between particles is still strong, the closeness of particles changes because even though they are less close, they're able to flow.
- The retired secret agent explained to the bird what it meant to be in his liquid form and how it affected him.
- Cool! It's nice to know that as a liquid your particles move around each other but as a solid they vibrate in place.
