  • Of course you can be prodigy, too. You can be best anything.
  • CONFLICT
  • RISING ACTION
  • "Why don't you like me the way i am? I'm not a genius."
  • "Who ask you to be genius? Only ask you be your best. For you sake."
  • Jing-Mei's mother is telling her she wants Jing-Mei to be a child prodigy since she lost everything in China like her family and house, they're both excited for Jing-Mei to become a child prodigy.
  • CLIMAX
  • "Then i wish I'd never been born! I wish i was dead! Like them."
  • The conflict is when Jing-Mei saw her mothers disappointed face when she didn't get the answers right on her mothers face. That made Jing-Mei start hating the tests and all the expectations her mother had for her.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • "No this your piano, Always your piano."
  • The rising action is when Jing-Mei's mother tells her shes going to start practicing the piano with Mr.Chong, the retired piano teacher. When Jing-Mei's mother told her this she didn't liked it and complained, which started a small argument.
  • RESOLUTION
  • The climax is when Jing-Mei and her mother are having an argument because Jing-Mei was watching TV instead of going to piano lessons with Mr.Chong, so that starts an argument between Jing-Mei and her mother and thats when Jing-Mei yells Then i wish I'd never been born. I wish i were dead! like them. which makes her mother walk away silently without saying a word.
  • The falling action is when Jing-Mei visits her mother and her mother wants to gift her the gift but Jing_Mei is confused on why.
  • The resolution is that in the end Jing-Mei took the piano with her and started playing it and realized the songs she would practice when she was younger were halves of one song together.
