  • What pains me the most is that my hospital bill was Rs. 3 lac, but insurance company is saying they are only liable to pay Rs. 2.5 lac, so the remaining Rs 50k came out of my pocket.

  • Oh! I got it, they said that the leftover Rs 50k is payment for consumables.Consumables include toothpaste, mineral water, DVD Player, T.V. & this never comes up in basic insurance.

  • No Raj, it is because of this reason we should always subscribe to rider for coverage of consumables. It includes everything like PPE kit, documentation expenses, surgical drill, syringes etc. So, if you would have subscribed it, then you could have claimed it
