- Roger has a new job and is happily living in an apartment. After Roger met Mrs Jones his life changed. Roger started working hard and went to college and he had a good job and home. One day he is coming home from work when he sees a boy about 14 stealing a women’s pocketbook.
- I wanted a new bike
- “Stop” Roger says, running and pushing the boy back. Before Roger can react the boy pushes the woman down. Roger grabs the Boy’s shoulder and asks “why are you doing this ? is there something you want.” The boy seems surprised but just grabs the pocketbook and starts running.
- You could have asked the women
- You know I was just like you, sometimes we want things but we can't always have them

- Roger helps the women up and asks if she is ok. “I will get your pocketbook for you” Roger says, assuring the old woman. Roger runs towards the boy but the boy is much faster. Eventually the boy runs out of breath and Roger catches him.
- Without her I would've become a thief
- Here is money for your bike
- Eat more boy and return the pocketbook.
- Thank You Sir
- Roger stops the boy and grips him harder on his shoulder. The boy seems scared now and doesn’t move. “why are you doing this,is there something you want?” Roger says once again this time with anger in his voice. “I wanted a new bike,” replied the boy.
- Roger smiles remembering Mrs Jones “You could've asked the woman.” The boy just seems confused. “What’s your name” Roger asked, and the boy replies “Noah.” Roger takes the boy to his house and offers him something to eat. “You know I was just like you, sometimes we want things but we can’t always have them” Roger says.
- Roger tells the boy the story of Mrs Jones and how she changed his life. “Without her I probably would've become a thief” Roger says. Roger tells Noah to eat more, and Noah seems guilty for stealing the woman’s purse. After they finish eating Roger gives the boy 20$ and tells him to get himself a new bike and return the pocketbook. The boy’s face erupts into a smile but all he can say is thank you sir.
