- Elizabeth Cady Stanton was born in 1815 in upstate New York. She got an education but later she was disappointed with her options

- Elizabeth Cady Stanton went to anti slavery meetings where she met her husband, Henry Stanton. Elizabeth and Henry then move on to go to an anti slavery conference in london and at this conference they are told that women are not allowed to speak. While there, Elizabeth meets Lucretia Mott.
- Getting involved
- You must let my wife speak! Her opinions are stronger than yours!
- Lucretia and I will not stand around while men make all the decisions for this country!
- Women may not speak towards men! They should be at home where they belong!
