Storyboard Text

  • Long ago, a god named Osiris ruled over Egypt along with his wife and sister, Isis. He also had a brother named Set. Set was jealous of Osiris's great success. So while Osiris was on a trip around the world, Set began an evil plot so he could become king.
  • So Set made all of the gods come for a feast. After everybody had finished eating, Set presented a beautiful sarcophagus. He said that whoever fit in it would get to keep it. Little did they know it was made to fit only Osiris, and when he went into it Set slammed the cover down, locked it, and threw it into the river.
  • Now that Osiris was dead, Set was the king of Egypt. But Isis did not agree with this. So she looked all over the Nile river and found his body. When she did he hid him so Set wouldn't find him. But Set did. When he found his body, he cut his body into many pieces and scattered them all around Egypt. Isis was distraught but still wouldn't give up. She intended to revive Osiris.
  • She looked all over Egypt for each and every part of Osiris's body. Finally, she had found most of the pieces. She made do with what she had even though she was missing 1 part of Osiris. Isis wrapped his body in linen, and to her surprise, he came back to life!
  • Although he did come back to life, he became the god of death and the underworld. His new job was to deem if Egyptians were worthy of passing onto the afterlife after the mummification process. He does this accompanied by many gods as well as Anubis, Isis, and the monster who will eat your heart if you are not worthy of going to the underworld.
  • Isis got pregnant and had a baby named Horus. Horus wanted to avenge Osiris, so he killed Set and became the god/protector of pharaohs. Now, Egypt was ruled by all of the coming pharaohs and protected by the new gods.
