Aw, come on don't get defensive! I thought we agreed to have a peaceful conversation—not a shouting battle! Come on, sit back down.
...*sigh*Really? You're going to be petty about this?
*hmph*
Ugh, fine. Sorry... I'm just angry because a lot of people misinterpret Darwinism to be evil due to how often its principles have been misused. The thing is, just because natural selection 'wants' something doesn't mean we have to base our moral values off of its desires.
Speaking of morals... Do you think love is moral? Under my definition, love values something that all people share—rational will. This makes it moral!
Well... it's complicated. Darwinism suggests that human behavior is completely governed by the forces of evolution. This means that the feeling of "rightness" is really just an illusion. However, if we were to adopt a utilitarian perspective and consider any action that increases happiness a moral good, love could be viewed as being moral. After all, love generally encourages reciprocal altruism and magnifies total happiness.
Well, under Kantian ethics, greater total happiness isn't what determines the morality of an action. It's the motive—not the consequence—that matters. But at least we kinda (?) agree that love is moral!
