- During the 17th century English Catholics were unnhappy. They weren't allowed in universities. And couldn't workship as they wanted to.
- Slide: 2
- At that time James I was the king. He was a protestant and didn't allow catholics. He decided to open the Parliament.
- Slide: 3
- Meanwhile a group of catholics met in secret. They made a plot to kill James I and the Lords. Between them was Guy Fawkes, a militar that knew about gunpowder.
- I have an idea.
- What's your idea?

- Blow up the Parliament.
- The plan was to blow up the House of Parliament with explosives. One of the plotter rented a house next to the Parliament. They digged a tunnel and put a lot of gunpowder under the Parliament.

- Don't go to the Parliament unless you want to die.

- One of the Catholics that was involved in the plot wrote a letter to a relative telling him not to go to the Parliament. This relative informed the Prime Minister , Robert Cecil. Robert Cecil informed the King about this.

- On the night of November 4th, guards searched the cellar and found Guy Fawkes. He was about to light up the explosives. The guards arrested him.
