- The Hajib pg 235/236Jude starts wearing her hajib and everyone is happy, and Baba is so happy that he started crying. The ESL teacher and Layla's mom are very happy for her. Aunt Michelle is a little suspicious of Jude wearing her hajib and thinking if she was forced to wear it or not. This means that even tough she is in America she stills wants to acknowledge where she came from and never lose that special part of her.

- The Show pg 332Everything is becoming easier for Jude, she learns that Ben gained his citizenship, she finally met her sister, and has learned to be brave by doing the show. This shows that Jude is a lot braver than she was in the beginning of the book, and she finally participated in a show as and lived out her dreams
- Quote : and my heart thunders in my chest. The audience claps with furious delight. The next scenes go by and it is almost my moment, almost my time to step out on stage, to be seen. I hold my breath. The curtain lifts and I step out onto the stage. The theater lights are brighter than I imagined. I squint a little but then I adjust to the spotlight.
