  • Hey do you know what friction is?
  • Yea I actually do know what friction is.
  • Oh so like a when I rub my feet against the floor
  • Ok, so friction is A force that is opposite of the motion, or resistance caused when two surfaces touch or rub together.
  • Yes and its just not friction there is, rolling friction, static friction, fluid friction and sliding friction. I will start to explain it to you by starting with fluid friction.
  • Also known as air resistance. When an object moves through a fluid (such as a liquid – water or a gas – air), the object experiences fluid friction. Like a bird flying in the air there is fluid friction in action.Oh so like a plane flying in the air also or like a ball when someone throws it
  • Sliding friction occurs when one object slides over another object. For example when there is snow outside and you go to a big hill with your sled than you start sliding down that hill or when you push and something hard enough it may start to slide in that direction.
  • Now to the next type of friction static frictionStatic friction occurs between something that is not moving and the surface one it is resting. So it's like right now we are in a static position cause we are like a object on a chair that isn't moving.Yes correct! Then finally rolling friction. Rolling friction occurs when one surface rolls across another like when you are driving a car or a bike so that is really all that you have to now bye!
