Chapter 17
You must create a female for me with whom I can live in the interchange of those sympathies necessary for my being. This you alone can do, and I demand it of you as a right which you must not refuse to concede.
While searching for food, the monster finds out some useful books of cottagers such as Sorrows of Werter and Plutarch's lives. In addition, he discovers some papers from Victor's journal and gets disgusted during reading it. As a result, he decides to introduce himself to cottagers. At first, he tries to present himself to blind De Lacey when Felix, Agatha, and Safie depart one day for a long walk. However, while describing his situation to the old man, the other three return undexpectedly. Horrified by the appearance of monster, Felix drives the monster away.
Chapters 18-19
After rejection, the creature promises himself to revenge against all humanity. During his trip to Geneva for revenge, he comes across a girl, drawning in the water. When he rescues her from water, another man that accompanied the girl though that the monster is attacking her and shoots him. As he arrives near Geneva, faces with William Frankenstein in the wood and strangles the boy to death with own hands. After the death of the first victim, the monster takes the picture of Caroline from William and secretely places it in the folds of the dress of a girl sleeping in a barn - Justine Moritz, who is later blamed for the death of William.
Chapter 20
Begone! I do break my promise; never will I create another like yourself, equal in deformity and wickedness.
You have destroyed the work which you began; what is it that you intend? Do you dare to break your promise?
At the end of his story, the creature asks Victor to create a female companion to himself. Although Victor at first refuses it at all, the monster appeals to Victor's sense of reponsibility. He instills Victor that the main cause of all his evil actions is loneliness. The monster swears to run away to South America with his female companion far from human contact. Convinced by this, Victor agrees to create a female creature. Even though the moster is satisfied, he warns Victor that he is going to monitor Victor's progress.
Chapter 21
Have my murderous machinations deprived you also, my dearest Henry, of life? Two I have already destroyed; other victims await their destiny; but you, Clerval, my friend, my benefactor—
After his meeting with monster, Victor starts to plane the creation of female creature. During that time, Alphonse Frankenstein decides to marry Victor and Elizabeth. However, although satisfied, Victor assures his father to marry after his trip to England where he indeed wanted to gather information. Consequently, he with Henry Clerval travels to England, where after getting sufficient data Victor makes Henry Clerval to stay there, while he himself traveled to Scotland and set up a little laboratory.
One night while working, Victor tihinks about the consequences of his female creation for a moment. He recognizes that the creature with his female companion might have children, creating " a race of devils" on the Earth. As a result, he decides to ruin his creation. At that moment, monster appears there and, as Victor breaks his promise, promises to be with him on wedding night. Following day, Victor gets letter from Henry about his request to continue their travels. In the evening of that day, he departs and rows out onto the ocean. Nevertheless, he arrives in diverse shore near a town, where he is blamed as the murderer of an individual last night.
After being blamed, Victor is taken to Mr.Kirwin, the military of the town. However, when Victor sees the victim, he reacts as in fact the vicitim was his best friend, Henry Clerval, with the black marks of the monster's hands. After the death of his friend, Victor falls into convulsions and struggles with long illness. He stays ill for two months. When Victor recovers, he finds himself still in prison. Nevertheless, Mr. Kirwin was now more sympathetic to him than before. One day, Mr.Kirwin informs Victor about a visitor - Victor's father. After release, Victor departs with his father to Geneva.
