- Jason, son of unjustly overthrown King Aeson of Iolcus, is raised by the centaur Chiron. Far away from the wrath of his treacherous uncle Pelias, wise Chiron reared Jason into a knowledgeable and powerful man.
- Belly of the Whale
- Upon reaching adulthood, Jason sets off to reunite with his parents and claim the throne that is rightfully his.
- Supernatural Aid
- While making his way to Iolcus, Jason is forced to sim across an icy and violent river. He does so, losing a sandal in the process.
- Meeting with the Goddess
- Having been informed by the Oracle of the danger of a man with only one sandal, Pelias immediately deduced who Jason was. As a result, Pelias challenged Jason to an impossible task: to capture the Golden Fleece. Jason assembles a mighty crew of heroes to accompany him on this legendary journey. They name their magical ship Argo.
- Along the way to Colchis, the Argonauts meet Phineus, a king punished by Zeus for his arrogance. After driving away the harpies that tormented him, Phineas used his ability to look into the future to help guide Jason to Colchis swiftly.
- Upon landing in Colchis, KIng Aeëtes challenged Jason to replicate his grueling daily ordeal the next day. Jason sought Medea, the king's magically gifted daughter. Luckily for him, Eros had already caused her to fall madly in love with the young hero, causing her to do as he said with little resistance.
