  • She speaks:O, speak again, bright angel! for thou artAs glorious to this night, being o’er my headAs is a winged messenger of heavenUnto the white-upturned wondering eyesOf mortals that fall back to gaze on himWhen he bestrides the lazy-pacing cloudsAnd sails upon the bosom of the air.
  • Ay me!
  • O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name.
  • [Aside] Shall I hear more, or shall I speakat this?
  • Or ,if thou wilt ot, be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet.
  • ’Tis but thy name that is my enemy; Thou art thyself, though not a Montague. What’s Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot, Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
  • I take thee at thy word:Call me but love, and I’ll be new baptized;Henceforth I never will be Romeo.
  • Romeo sneaks into the Capulet's Orchard to see Juliet. Juliet appears on the balcony.
  • By a nameI know not how to tell thee who I am:My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself, Because it is an enemy to thee; Had I it written, I would tear the word.
  • What man art thou that thus bescreen’din nightSo stumblest on my counsel?
  • While Juliet is unaware Romeo is listening to her she is saying all of these things she wishes would happen.
  • How camest thou hither, tell me, and wherefore? The orchard walls are high and hard to climb.
  • With love’s light wings did I o’er-perch these walls; For stony limits cannot hold love out, And what love can do that dares love attempt; Therefore thy kinsmen are no let to me.
  • After Romeo hears how Juliet fells he can not keep quiet anymore so he starts to talk, startling Juliet.
  • And the place death, considering who thou art, If any of my kinsmen find thee here. If they do see thee, they will murder thee.
  • I have night’s cloak to hide me from their sight; And but thou love me, let them find me here: My life were better ended by their hate, Than death prorogued, wanting of thy love.
  • Juliet recognizes Romeo's voice even though they have spoken briefly, Juliet asks who is there.
  • Juliet asked how Romeo got over the walls because they are high and hard to climb.
  • Juliet is worried that Romeo will be killed if the kinsmen see him at the Capulet's orchard, Romeo said he will rather die than wait any longer for her love.
